I dislike leaving bad reviews - however this game was a disaster from the start.
Host was running 3 escape rooms at the same time (we were told this) so we were told in the event of needing a hint, wave at the cameras (Not a great start)
We went through the first part fairly easily but moving into a second space, disaster struck. Not one, not two but three pieces of tech weren't working - we were unable to get the hosts attention for 13 minutes. I eventually went to the door to exit to speak to her and there are no emergency exit switches! We are stuck until she goes back to her desk - I could hear her welcoming and talking to another team the other side of the door and no matter how loud I knocked, no answer (the positive here was we were not having a medical emergency)
Eventually she returned and said "do you need me?" we state that actually we'd like to exit as the timer will be running out soon and we'd been trying to get her attention for some time and the game simply wasn't working. We were met with a quite abrupt "now listen to me" and she tried to talk us through the game - unfortuantely we knew exactly what to do - it just didn't work.
When she finally agreed to let us out - she had to override the end puzzle and talk us through something to get us out which made me worry further that there are no emergency protocols in place.
We asked to speak to the owner/manager who was rude to begin with and asked us to show him the problems - we did and he quickly changed and agreed that the three things were in fact broken and we could never have played the full game and gave us a full refund.
Such a shame as their Jumanji room was good but the safety side and the inability to contact a GM is very concerning.
Loved this! Room 8 for our 8&5 year olds and 49 for me and hubby. Lots of great puzzles, not necessarily fitting a Sherlock theme, more steam punk. A couple of really original puzzles and everything ran smoothly. Kids loved the props and watching Daddy doing some hard work 😆.
