Escape From The Room: The Mixed Up Mind of Mr Crabheal

I'd been wanting to play this since it got nominated for a TERPECA last year.  This is a puzzlefest style of room where you have to complete so many puzzles to get the victory.  This is slightly differnet as the room is divided into so many areas, and then these open up as the game progresses.  It's not in the same league as say Escape Quest but there's a lot to like here and the story is executed well with a lot of puzzles to solve.

I loved this game!  Its a bit cheap and cheerful in construction and has'nt been put together with a huge budget or a massive venue space but its really clever and very different to anything else we have done.  There is just soooooo much to do and so much variety its great.  We did 78% of the puzzles and thought we were going pretty well so it shows that it will keep even the best groups in there until the end of the hour.  Great fun, well recommended!  Slightly annoying you don't see or do everything in your hour slot but I guess thats the point, there is just far too much to possibly do in the time unless you are superhuman!  We did it as a 3 but I believe that it would easily handle bigger groups than most rooms due to the sheer volume of puzzles (36 of them!)..

*Really* loved this room but holding off half a star from the frustration of not feeling like you've fully completed it. We'd have benefitted from an extra team member here although at the very start it might have felt like too many cooks but by the time you start "cooking" you'll need those extra eyes. 

Loved the theming. Have seen similar ideas but not put together like this. 

Word of warning - we played on what I think has been the hottest day of the year and it was BOILING in both rooms we played. Make sure to keep yourselves hydrated. 

Looking forward to playing all the other rooms here and in the other venues. 

Excellent room with so much to keep you busy. Never a dull moment in this room. Imaginative and unique puzzles. Very playful and will keep you desperate for more. Wish we could have played the rest of the rooms there. Would genuinely return to replay as it was so much fun. 

This is a very unique room, so full of puzzles that you aren’t meant to finish it, instead the goal is to get as many correct as possible in order to eliminate possible answers for the final question. My favourite thing about this room is that each puzzle answer is the name of a tube station which allows for some creative and fun puzzles.
