An absolutely unique, beautiful room. Not in Budapest central but accessible enough via metro and a short walk. The game itself takes some physical extension, climbing etc. but the puzzles were clever and fun. One of the best games we played in Budapest.


Fun, immersive, themed, clever puzzles, great host and funny hints.
Everything is perfect in this ER, story, setting, pace, difficulty, mix of puzzles, visual/sensual effects.


Really enjoyed this game, you can tell it was made with passion. We had a lot of fun, no clues needed so can't comment on that aspect. It was clearly 'hand made' but in a really good way, executed to a high standard. Hosting was great too and nothing negative to say!

Downtown Budapest is packed with escape rooms; even with the most intense schedule you could play games for a week without needing to leave the centre. So itβs pretty impressive that Pirate Cave has survived and thrived for close to a decade despite being several metro stops out to the east.
The venue is deep within an industrial park, and has just the one eponymous game. It immediately gave me a good impression thanks to the owner, who was solicitous and clearly passionate about his room. I su...
