The clock is ticking and you can’t afford to waste a moment. Shirley’s Diner is usually known for its strong coffee, relaxing atmosphere and no-nonsense waitresses. But today something threatens to disturb the calm of this all-American diner forever. Lurking inside the kitchen is a deadly bomb and you are the only ones who can diffuse it in time. Who could want to destroy Shirley’s and why? Could it be Brad, the chef who left the diner under a cloud last month? Or could this be the handiwork of a very dissatisfied customer? Will you manage to save Shirley’s in time?

This game was ok. Not very memorable apart from the ridiculously loud sound track. Had to leave the room so the GM could hear us to ask them to turn it down.

Some outside knowledge was needed for one puzzle which was unexpected.

It was decent, but as with many of the games here I'm afraid some of the puzzles are just completely illogical.

great hosting

We weren’t sure what to expect from the company, but the GM was insanely nice and did a fantastic job giving us a nudge or two in the right direction.  The game was fun and had some solid puzzles!

Here we did 5 escape rooms in a day! I’ve wanted to do an escape day for ages, with my bezzie escape room pal! The venue is a fantastic building, so big! So much space for them to continue to expand. Very well organised for us and they gave us a little snack / treat basket to keep us going.

I’ll rate each room individually

This one actually was my least fave, tho maybe we were just mentally  tired out haha. It wasn’t a bad room, just not quite my fave!

Discord in the Diner!

I took a hungover first-timer to this one, so it was a treat to find out we’d start the challenge separated!

A bitter human being has placed a bomb in the kitchen of Shirley’s, which must be diffused before the whole place is destroyed. The classic ‘Stop the bomb!’ story given a culinary twist.

So many puzzles! There was quite a bit of arithmetic involved, which makes sense and fitted in to the story and its setting. Admittedly, we were pushed through the final one to ensure our victory, but the awkward items involved were making life tricky, especially in those last few minutes.

Amazing. I’ve just done my 55th room and the Die-ner still stands out so strongly above the rest. If I sat down at one of the 50s-style tables, I wouldn’t have been surprised if a waitress in a red and white striped uniform came to take my order, haha. The kitchen apparatus, till, tip jar, wall art and everything in between were all spot on.

Final Comments

I’d recommend taking more than two people, as our work really was cut out. It was an intense, fast-paced game and it’s up there with one of my all-time faves!

Out of the two of their rooms I’ve done so far, I preferred Hotel Heist because I found the puzzles a little more diverse and interesting. But it’s a solid room and well worth a visit.
