The sheer amount of work that had gone into this game should be applauded. You use all sorts of tech, sites, paper and physical objects to work your way through the story. Nice mixture of puzzles and tasks. We found some bits very frustrating (mostly the sheer amount of text chat, and the fact it scrolled on while you were reading, and also the fact that they keep saying they did the same things as you) and some puzzles just didn't make sense. But on the whole it was very good and great value for money, being 8 chapters of about an hour long.
I really wanted to like this game because I'm a big fan of Cthulhu, H.P. Lovecraft and the setting this game is based on, but it is probably one of the weaker Key Enigma games.
Like Kalinasu there are only 4 chapters (plus a bonus expansion via Kickstarter) but unlike Kalinasu, each chapter is very light on content both online and in the envelopes.
The difficult puzzles seem to be based on interpretation skills rather than actually hard puzzles, some of the props you didn't even need to interact with at all beyond a quick glance.
It feels like a lot of time and effort were put into images that pad out the setting, but aren't part of puzzles, so you don't specifically need to interact with them.
The ending was particularly lacklustre.
Sone good puzzles, some not so good and a little frustrating where you needed hints just to know where to start. Clever use of websites but lacked finesse and quite a few spelling mistakes. Nice package of artefacts, good quality and a nice progression through the story. All in all good fun but not the best out there.
