At the centre of London’s criminal underworld lies a centuries-old secret.
In 1912, two Bloomsbury bookbinders created a luxurious jeweled binding for a book that became known as The Great Omar.
Hugely valuable, the book found a buyer and was packed safely aboard a boat bound for New York.
On the 15th of April 1912 the HMS Titanic sank, leaving the book forever lost at sea. Its secrets were never recovered. Until now.
In an unassuming building in London, a sea of secrets is waiting to be revealed.
Enter a hidden world as you descend into the dark underbelly of international crime and prepare yourselves to face The Drop.
Will you beat the villain, or become one?

The Drop is a very unique experience. It's part escape room, part immersive theatre. The attraction is very engaging and is very immersive. I really enjoyed the initial puzzle section, and thought the progression into full on immersive theatre was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the ending was incredibly abrupt. The plot seemed to be building up to an immense finale and just as we were expecting to be confronted with what would've been an exciting ending we were met with what was effectively a "The End" slide appearing on a screen. It was rather disappointing given the calibre of what came before. It left a rather sour taste in our mouths as it the ending that we expected.

Swamp Motel will be familiar to many enthusiasts from their Isklander trilogy of online games released during lockdowns, starting with Plymouth Point; they’ve now moved from the internet to the real world, and The Drop is a physical escape room / immersive theatre hybrid that takes place in a location in Aldgate. It’s designed for small groups of 2-4, and is due to run until the end of the year.

In an exciting race against the clock, The Drop transports players to the criminal underworld of London in search of a long lost and highly valuable book. For those 90 minutes, we were the stars in our own action thrilled drama and my heart didn’t stop pounding once. The Drop is an experience like no other and if you’re fans of escape-room type immersivity, it’s unmissable.
The Drop by Swamp Motel is certainly one of the most genuine immersive theatre productions out there. We’ve seen how others blur the reality between what is real and fake but nothing on the scale compared to this experience. They use techniques we’ve not seen before and take you on a journey, personalised to your small group. We were in awe from start to finish and were just shocked to see the scale of this real life production. We wish we could experience this again, without knowing what to expect!
