Tallinn, Jun 2016
It’s difficult to review this room because it included one very memorable moment which I’m avoiding talking about so as not to spoil it, and which is something of a ‘love it or hate it’ element.
Other than that, it was mostly a middle-tier room with decent puzzles. There were some points where we had lots of things to investigate, most of which we couldn’t do anything with until later – but since we didn’t know that we wasted frustrating minutes experimenting with them anyhow. That was partly because the room has a couple of bonus puzzle tracks, which in other respects I’d welcome as a nice innovation and a way to give teams more to do when they’re doing well.
A room that managed to surprise us and with more nuances to it – not for the faint hearted! I also really liked the bonus tracks which solved the potential problem some rooms have of being too linear on the key task.
