Crew Vs. Crew: The Pirates' Island is a new concept at DECKSCAPE which they really tried to bring out a new type of gaming which it would involve team collaboration and competition. It's easy to carry around while traveling and great for players who want a quick puzzle fix. The instructions are really simple and you don't need a huge space to play the game. I probably wouldn't categorized this game as an "escape room" (although the storyline was about a pirate trying to escape captivity) as there weren't enough puzzles in the game that portrayed an escape. It felt more like a bunch of mini puzzles bundled together. The graphics were great and gave the players the feeling of being on a pirate ship and traveling to various destinations. I wish there were a few more puzzles that could be incorporated where the cards could be utilized in a tactile way versus all visual. We haven't tried a traditional DECKSCAPE game yet so I wonder how different the puzzle and set up is from this team style game? We look forward to speaking to the creators at dV GIOCHI next year on our "Behind the MasterMinds" show to learn about their inspirations and other production developments at dV GIOCHI. So remember to follow us to be alerted on the date!
