As a lifelong explorer and treasure hunter youβve always been fascinated by the fate of the Amber Room. Estimated to be worth half a billion dollars at todayβs prices, the whereabouts of the Amber Room has long been a mystery, since its disappearance from Russia during the chaotic last months of WW2.
Theories abound as to what happened to the Amber Room, including that it lies at the bottom of a mineshaft or in a lake in central Europe. But you believe it remains largely intact and exists today in a private collection somewhere.
Investigating a tip off about its location, you arrange to meet a couple of other treasure hunters. Before the meeting takes place however, you are drugged in a bar and now find yourself in great peril, locked in a bunker.
You will need to trace the history of the original gang members who stole the Amber Room in 1945 to discover what happened to it, and to save your skin! Will you solve one of the great mysteries of the 21st Century and Escape in 60?

Firstly you have to get past the fact that you have to walk through a swimming pool to get to the escape room. Having done a few rooms now we picked this given the longer time, however the room let itself down by breaking the immersion when the host came into the room halfway through to check we'd turned the combination padlock right.....

story-driven
Makes it to the top of the list for strange locations for an escape room - its in a kind of mezanine area overlooking a large family swimming pool, and you access it by walking through the pool room...!
Nice room though, air conditioned which was very welcome as it was very hot everywhere else because of the pool. Theming was fine, not the kind of room you walk into and your jaw drops, but the game was fun, puzzles were mostly good, some were quite hard to understand.
One weird thing though, the game master would just randomly come in the room to near enough help us. Never had that before. Clues were delivered via a screen, but sometimes, the GM would just walk in and give the clues that way. I thought that was rather strange. It breaks character and kind of ruins the flow.
