We played this one on a recent trip to Marrakech, as we try and get a room in on all of our holidays. The company is a European one who has branched out into Marrakech, I believe replicating their rooms elsewhere so it's quite a standard escape room we'd expect to see at home in the UK.

The props are lovely, and it's been put together well, and I enjoyed several of the puzzles. The fact that the main language is French wasn't a problem at all, and only cause a very minor amount of confusion for one of the tasks. (and turned out not to be the thing we were stuck becuase of anyway)

The most negative aspect was the middle room, where the clues didn't quite work for us, and one of the things was so well hidden it just wasn't obvious we should be looking there at all. If there are hidden compartments it should be at least indicated somewhere or be slightly visible, otherwise you just feel like you're breaking things in the room.

The host was really friendly, but then seemed a bit weird after we finished, and seemed to be slightly mocking some of the errors we'd made. He just kept telling us how easy it is if you follow the clues, but the clues weren't especially obvious! I think it could just be the Moroccan sense of humour as they can be quite playful that way, but it felt a bit demoralising at the time.

It's a lot cheaper than playing in the UK though, so worth trying their rooms if you're in the area. 🙂

Located away from the central Medina alongside a water park and a golfing range, Enigma Escape Game is a French operated company not a homegrown venture, and is priced for the tourist trade, costing a similar amount to many games in Western Europe.

They operate three games, but only their Egyptian game is listed as suitable for two players, making it easy to dec...
