Alan was always someone we could rely on, he’d be at work super early every shift, was always happy to stay late if we needed him to, and if you could look past his obsession with pirates then he seemed like a very normal guy. Unfortunately, he’s not turned up for work two days in a row and he isn’t returning our calls, and we suspect he’s responsible for a very important manual going missing. We think it’s our duty as responsible employers to do something …so we want to ask you for a favour

I was very underwhelmed by the first section of this game. Thankfully we did it rather quickly and the game got a lot more interesting. The second section of the game looked amazing, had some very interesting puzzles and use of space. Apparently, most teams don’t do the first section as quickly which seems like a shame. They’re definitely missing the best parts of the game.
Of Unescapable’s games, Alan gives away the fewest clues to its theme - something about finding a missing employee? But there are enough subtle and not so subtle hints in the website details that I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying this is a pirate themed room - though that might not be obvious when the game begins.

A pirate themed room, but not as you know it. Surprise awaits you when you enter this room, and then you’re taken on a wonderful journey as the story develops.
