As the easiest of the games on offer from Trapped, Carnival is a perfect choice for the whole family (aged 8+ according to Trapped). Thanks to the format and the puzzle styles, I can see this being a great hit at a children’s birthday party, or even the next family reunion
We blitzed through the game in no time at all, but we still had fun. This isn’t a game for escape room enthusiasts by a long stretch.
If you’re after a challenge, I’d recommend going for the other games in the Trapped series – The Art Heist and The Bank Job.
But if you’re looking for some fun themed puzzle activities for a kid’s birthday party, then The Carnival would be a great fit.
The puzzles are varied with a mix of maths, patterns and sequencing puzzles. Once you have solved all the sideshow puzzles, your last task is the duck-shooting range to win as many bonus points as possible.
It’s always a pleasure to see a straight-up toy or game company take on the escape room format. Trapped succeeds at creating a high-energy, family-friendly option that’s perfect for getting kids of all ages (grown-up ones included) into escaping.
