We played all three games at No Exit’s Elioupolis location (they have a couple more rooms at the Neos Kosmos address), and in all three the live acting was a major part of the experience. That’s par for the course in Athens, but where the actor in Death Row creates drama and the actor in Exorcista creates terror, the actor in Wanted creates hilarity.
Wanted is of course set in the American Old West, and how seriously it takes its theme can be judged from the fact that you’re in the town of Holy Cow.
On its own Wanted would be an excellent Western escape room, a bumper-size jaunt through a large and colourful ‘town’ with interesting and smart puzzles the whole way through. But what really lifts it is the variety of characters inhabiting that town. Each is different, and each is generally more interesting than simply being there to deliver hints, as an obstacle, or deliver a plot update; and in all cases they were witty and quick with an improvised reply.
As a puzzle challenge, Death Row has the edge (though you really should be just playing everything at the venue, not choosing between them). Wanted wins on silliness. It is certainly a game best suited to those who enjoy getting into a bit of light-hearted interactive theatre back and forth, but even if that’s not you you can likely enjoy it anyhow. Don’t play it aiming to crush the puzzles as quickly as possible; take your time, play around, and enjoy it to the full. 5 / 5
