The hotel located in the region of Geel dates back to 1950 and was founded by Rita and Tijl Jacobs. Over the decades, their hotel has grown into a four-star hotel. The hotel had become so famous that guests kept coming. In 1980, Tijl passed away, and around September 18th of the following year, Rita suddenly vanished.
Andre, the son of Rita and Tijl, managed to keep the doors open until the late 90s. Since Rita's disappearance, guests stopped coming. They complained of hearing banging and ghostly noises.
Andre had to close the hotel for guests. However, he decided to hire a caretaker for maintenance. Since the closure, the caretaker occasionally opens the doors for guests.
Could Rita and Tijl still be haunting their hotel? Or is there something else going on?

Last stop on the first day of our weekend trip to Belgium. It’s gotten quite late and it’s time to look for a place to stay. So it’s a good thing that Geel has an Escape Hotel.
You can check out any time you like, but can you leave?
