Breakout Malacca: Wonderland

What made us attempt another room at Breakout Melaka after a not entirely inspiring experience with the first game we played there? Well, we had plenty of time whilst waiting for our transfer and the price is relatively reasonable compared to games in Europe.

Our quest at Wonderland today was to find the magical flower, place it on the magic stand to restore Wonderland to its glory. This room is described to be geared towards beginners and family so our expectations were for more approachable and straightforward puzzles.

The room’s decor was more impressive than Capsule but again, puzzles were numbered from one to nine with white labels. The hint system again had one pre-set hint or solution on your mobile, though with the simpler puzzles in this room we only needed a nudge once.

As with most rooms intended for beginners, there were the basics: count and search. Overall, the game was reasonably fun though with one tenuous puzzle. With that one it was easily possible to brute force and arrive at a solution by trying different combinations, while coming out of it none the wiser of the intended logic.

Like all the rooms at this venue it’s 55 minutes long. We escaped with over 20 minutes left, but that’s fair enough given that it’s intended for first time players.
