The year is 1928 and as the roaring twenties draw to a close criminality is rife in Basingstoke. Illicit gambling and 3 dead agents lead to a perfectly innocent looking Grocers store. What secrets can it possibly be hiding? (Note – this is our more difficult room)

Good decor and volume of puzzles to keep us occupied for our first trip back into live ERs post lockdown. Well hosted by the GM who just gave us a couple of nudges at the end (which meant we finished on 59:59 exactly). Did manage to bypass part of the game having worked out the solution for a puzzle without having all the info, and missed a small part of the game entirely having seen what was required without finding the instructions. One puzzle didn't quite make sense INHO although we did work out what was required in the end. Solid ER fun and felt like a reasonable difficulty level for a pair.

They say this is their most difficult room, I would say its not (but only by a slim margin) but there is a lot to do and some tricky searching to complete.

With three successful games under their belt at their Southampton branch, Exciting Escapes have expanded to a second branch in Basingstoke, with one copy of their original game plus two new ones. Dark Deeds is the first of those new games and has a 1920s theme, set in a grocery store that might be a front for illicit gambling and stolen goods.

An old-fashioned British grocery store is perhaps not the most glamorous setting for a game, gambling or no gambling. But the decor is solid and the them...
