You and your friends decide to go camping in the woods. It’s a cold, dark night and you are all sitting around the campfire enjoying each other’s company. Suddenly, you hear a piercing scream.

Feeling brave you head in the direction of the danger. Coming across an old sinister cabin you think it may be time to turn back. However, knowing someone needs your help you persist and discover the door is unlocked. Deciding to go inside and investigate, the door slams shut behind you! You hear loud banging from the outside and realise that you are trapped! Looking around, you notice that this is no ordinary cabin in the woods.

It is the home of a serial killer!

We were initially concerned about this one due to the website saying there would be loud sounds and frequent jump scares, which are both things that I am particularly sensitive around. But it was absolutely fine, there was only 1 jump scare that I noticed and I don't recall any loud sounds. I guess it could be dependant on the game master but ours seemed very tame - more like just a dark room with some ambient sounds. The puzzles were pretty varied and interesting, though it was quite hard at times to work out which information is for which puzzle. Both rooms I have played here are very padlock-heavy (which we don't mind, but I know some teams prefer rooms without them), so be prepared for that. I think overall the room was good fun for the price, but I would have liked it to have played a little more to the cabin in the woods theme, rather than just a dark old room.

Theming was good, and puzzles were fun and interesting. Didn't find lighting to be an issue, it was enough to make the atmosphere creepy and ominous. Plays out in quite a linear fashion, so would have enjoyed some more puzzles, especially in the later half of the game.

The setting of this game is decent. The lighting, sounds and scenery make you feel that you're in a creepy cabin. That same lighting however can be too dim for intricate, visual puzzles and the small torches don't always give enough light.

The game teeters on the line of creepy and scary, with a couple of jump scares to keep you on your toes. It is not an extreme horror or very scary game as a whole however.

It is a traditional escape room game with padlocks and locked furniture with enough to keep our team of 2 busy throughout.

A disappointing room from start to finish. Darkness was used to make the game more difficult, decoration was minimal, puzzles were weak and lazy. For all but the absolute novice, this will feel distinctly lacking.
