Wasn't a bad room - compared to the other games here...

Great room for new escapees - Not the best theming, but the game play was fun.

Not a bad little room, the theme was fairly generic and the theming was pretty standard but not bad. Some good puzzles in there, but a few we have seen many times which made it a little easy for us.

We played this back in the day during a bit of an escape tour of Manchester. Definitely at the bottom of the list in terms of quality but right up at the top in terms of price, it was cheap. Not necessarily a bad room, just a little easy and simplistic at times. Could be improved in certain areas!

An Economical Escape

At less than Β£9.00 per person, I couldn't resist giving Exit the Room a try.

Story

Enter an insane professor's lab in order to find out and put a stop to his secret plan.

Puzzles

Bog-standard, really, but we realised part-way through that we had skipped several of them. Due to an error when resetting the room, I was able to open a lock prematurely. Basically, a word lock was sitting in a cabinet, the correct sequence lined up on it, and so I entered this into the word lock that was preventing the door from opening. This didn't occur to us as strange until we were trying to unlock things that we should have already opened by that stage. Our Games Master was apologetic.

Mise-en-scène

Unconvincing. It's a bunch-of-props-thrown-in-a-room situation. At the time, the venue was only a few months old, but nothing at all made me feel immersed. I feel this sort of stuff should be put in place before opening.
